RECRUITING TOOLBOX

Dear Crew Members,

In recent years it has become apparent that the most effective way for the Venturing program to grow is for youth to work to recruit other youth, such as their friends. More Venturers means more fun, right? The youth of the National Venturing Cabinet believe it is vital that the youth of the Venturing program are the ones initiating and sustaining recruitment efforts. Because of this, the Venturing Recruitment Toolbox was developed as part of the Peer-to-Peer recruitment program.

The Toolbox reinforces the role of the youth in reaching out to their peers and getting them involved. It includes valuable materials such as brochures, customizable fliers that will make the advertisement of your crew easier, and a guide that explains how and where youth can improve recruitment. With the Toolbox, the National Venturing Cabinet has tried to make recruitment as easy and convenient as possible. We are proud to announce that the entire Venturing Recruitment Toolbox is free! The only thing you need to do is to complete and return the attached order form. It's that easy!

You have also received the Recruitment Guide booklet showing suggestions for who, when, where, and how you are able to recruit. For additional Peer-to-Peer recruitment materials, visit www.scouting.org/Venturing. Under the heading "Crew Support," you can select the "Venturing Recruiting Toolbox," where you can view and download a PDF version of all the Toolbox materials. After downloading these documents, your youth can customize and print them to fit your crew's needs. If you need additional order forms, you can find them in the Toolbox.

To gain a clear understanding of how to effectively use the Toolbox to recruit their peers, Venturers can attend one of the regional webinars sponsored by the National Venturing Cabinet. (Advisors are welcome, too!) Each webinar will include an introduction and discussion of the materials found in the Toolbox and an opportunity for webinar participants to ask a few questions. The schedule and registration for these webinars will be published at http://venturingwebinar.kintera.org/Attached is a sample registration form. There is a 95 person limit to each training so hurry to complete the online registration. The number of slots left is located under the date. Once all the trainings are full we will evaluate adding more dates.

We look forward to you and your crew leadership joining us online!

Yours in Venturing,

2013-2014 National Venturing Cabinet
